What/who influences you to buy things?
Things that are on sale, on clearance, and if I have coupons.
How do advertisements influence your buying behavior?
I buy things more often if I see a good sale or have heard good reviews about what I’m buying.
What sticks out to you the most in advertisements?
Color and font size sticks out to me the most when I am skimming through a flyer or ad. Usually that is what sticks out to me, as well as headings that saying annual sale or clearance.
Why might advertisements be good?
Businesses make money by promoting their stuff with ads, coupons, and word of mouth from someone who has had success with something that’s been advertised.
Why might advertisements be bad?
Advertising makes us feel that we’re not good enough as we are. There is always something new that comes on the market that makes us think twice about ourselves. For example, dieting, weight loss, and exercise ads always show a fit person with a nice body but in reality not everyone is going to look like that if they were to try the product or program that is being advertised. Which leaves people discouraged and unsatisfied.
What is your favorite advertisement?
My favorite advisements are the ads I get mailed with a brief catalog of new trends or fragrances followed by coupons prompting me to go spend more money because I’m getting a “good deal”.
